On June 2, I embarked on a flight to NYC.. to begin one of the most rewarding challenging extraordinary experiences of my life.
I've been residing in lower Manhattan while interning full time at a small boutique PR agency in SoHo that focuses on beauty, lifestyle and fashion. I didn't expect this to be easy....and it hasn't been. I've had good days..and I've had really difficult days... but I wouldn't trade what I'm experiencing right now for the world. As the only intern this summer at the small firm, I'm currently gaining so much hands on experience in PR that I could never gather in a college course. No day is the same. No hour is the same. Whether I'm drafting pitch letters, or sending out product samples to beauty editors and celebrities.. there are always a million and one things to do: which means more practice and lessons to be learned. I feel so blessed to even have this opportunity and I've been getting through it simply due to a lot of prayer and about 7 phone calls a day to my mom! Time is going by so fast, but I know I'll take so much with me once this is all over.
